PASTORS AND LEADERS FROM THE GYPSY CHURCH IN ROMANIA ATTENDING THEIR FIRST
BIBLE CONFERENCE |

This fine body of men shows the pastors and church leaders from the
gypsy church in Romania who came together for a two-day Bible
Conference in November sponsored jointly by Damascus Trust and
BAM. This was the first Bible conference of this kind
arranged specifically for their churches.
Pastor John, a senior pastor in the group, had been praying for this
time of fellowship and study to take place and expressed his desire
to Andy Paine some years ago when the decision to hold it was first
made.
Sponsorship by BAM and DT enabled leaders from a wide area to
attend.
These men have a keen desire for the Lord and to lead their people
into the deeper truths of the Scriptures. Andy took the Bible
reading each morning and the main message in the evening meetings,
with senior pastors taking such topics as Christian integrity,
finance and personal relationships at sessions during the day.
It is hoped this conference can now become a regular event. |
The picture below shows some of the leaders assembled for singing
before the evening meeting began. The singing was lively and with
songs that reflected their culture sung to gypsy instruments. Many
young men are among their leaders.
Some of these had attended Andy’s earlier Bible conferences held for
pastors in Oradea over recent years but this was the first gathering
specially for the gypsy churches
