‘Give me a drink’. One of those remarks that opened the door for further conversation. And it led the Samaritan woman into a new experience which she probably never dreamed could happen to her.
Yet everyday conversation with strangers as well as passing acquaintances is full of such requests. It is not so much what to say, but how to turn it to our hearer’s good that really counts.
Usually we fail because the right intent is missing. It is most likely that Jesus set out to speak to this woman and to introduce her to living water: He planned His route through Samaria for this very purpose.
Do you intend to speak to someone about the living satisfying water today?
