‘my people have abandoned the teaching that I gave them’. This is true in many areas today. Many have denied the treasure of a godly heritage passed on to us from earlier generations. God spoke to our fathers in time past by the prophets. God has been working throughout history. The days of the law were our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. The Ten Commandments need to be the foundation of our law today. Jesus’ sermon on the mount provides the prescription for peace and equality among all men. The instruction of the New Testament Epistles should form the basis for the local assembly of believers.
Abandon part and you let in the danger of abandoning the whole. The teaching God gives is the Creator telling His creation. His ways are best and not for discarding.
