‘no man is justified by the law’ [Galatians 3:11]

‘no man is justified by the law’. It is very gratifying to feel you are showing signs of improvement – when the passing of time seems to be knocking some sense into your waywardness. But while there are parts of the Ten Commandments you can keep or of God’s Law that you like, the parts beyond your grasp just mock you.
For us, the Law is like climbing a rope ladder that keeps slipping. We are condemned before we start.
That is why we must look elsewhere if we would be justified. What the law cannot do for us, Christ has done and will do. His atoning death on the Cross is effective enough to justify all who will receive that atonement.
Justification before God can only be obtained by trusting in Christ.
