‘the women who had gathered there’ [Acts 16:13 (NIV)]

‘the women who had gathered there’. We are not told where the men were but it has often been the prayer of the ladies that has moved the arm of the Lord and brought relief and blessing time and again.
The place where these ladies gathered was a good place for Paul and Silas to begin their European evangelistic tour. These were godly praying women and worshipped with what light they had. When the true light appeared and the gospel message was heard they responded. It was not who was there but whether they were seeking people and whether the Lord was there that mattered. The Lord satisfies seeking souls and feeds hungry souls, too. If a group of women provided the tinder to set alight a trail across Europe, God can and will use the prayer meeting today, whether men or women or both.
