“like a tree planted by the water” [Jeremiah 17:8(NIV)]

“like a tree planted by the water”. This is a description of the person who trusts in the Lord. This tree is not burned by the heat or withered by drought. The water supply is always there and the green leaves indicate a fruitful tree. So it can be for all whose trust is in the Lord. Jesus is the One who can give the very water of life that is a spring welling up within. It cannot be quenched by situations or circumstances. It’s a supply that the world cannot stop. This tree ‘sends out its roots by the stream’. How we need to root ourselves in Christ Jesus. However much we drink of the water He offers, there will always be more. Whether we are going through some fiery trial or a time of feeling dry and alone, let the Holy Spirit refresh you so that you can bear fruit to His glory.
