“children of the promise” [Romans 9:8(NIV)]

“children of the promise”. This is what we have become through faith in Jesus Christ. God promised Abraham that “through your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed.”
In and through the work of Christ, the blessing is now available to all. In Christ we have become children of God and now share in the eternal promises given to Abraham.
This is not for a worldly inheritance that will fade and perish but for a place in the new heaven and earth. It’s a promise that still stands and is secure in Christ. It will be fulfilled when Jesus comes again.
Until then, let us be sure to live as ‘children of the promise.’
