“he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord”. Hezekiah’s example is a good one to follow. He was a godly king and used to praying to the Lord and when Sennacherib, King of Assyria sent a threatening and frightening letter to say he was about to attack, it is not surprising to find that Hezekiah turned to the Lord.
Note that he laid the letter before the Lord. The Lord knew all about it, but by doing this Hezekiah was able to lay his concern before the Lord.
Don’t hesitate to tell the Lord everything that is in your heart. Go into detail even though you realise God knows all about the matter. The Lord delights to share the needs of His children and He may allow us to be apprehensive because it makes us plead the case before Him.
