“the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” [Luke 12:40(RAV)]

“the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”. Describing His Second Coming in this way, Jesus is showing us the need to be always ready. You can be busy with the many things in life and yet ready at a moment’s notice. Ready to hear His voice; ready to do His bidding; ready to stop what you are doing and to move on to something else. Most of all, be ready with garments unspotted by the world because they are made clean and white in the blood of the Lamb.
Life is full of surprises both pleasant and unpleasant. We need to realise that one day the greatest surprise of all for the believer will be the return of Jesus. It could be today. He is coming, of that there is no doubt. His will be a summons no lover of the Lord will want to miss.
