“he did not know that his life was in danger” [Proverbs 7:23(GNB)]

“he did not know that his life was in danger” .Much of this chapter in the Book of Proverbs is taken up with an inexperienced and foolish young man who became ensnared with a prostitute. We read how she tempted him with her charms and he gave in to her smooth talk.
Next, we see him going with her like an ox on the way to be slaughtered, like a deer prancing into a trap where an arrow would pierce its heart.
This is not the picture painted for us by the media today. There the observer is not told his life is in danger if he follows in her path and the picture is faded out before the slaughter takes place or the trap snaps shut.
Better never to set foot on a slippery path than be on it and find you can’t get off.
