“Better … a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city” .Living with a violent temper is like dwelling at the foot of a volcano. At any time there may be an eruption. A man may oversee an army yet himself be enslaved by that evil called temper.
Steering your own life aright is more important than sorting out the course others should take. We shall each one be primarily responsible for what we have done with our own lives.
As one stroke of the hand can demolish the tower of bricks a child has laboriously built, so can temper sweep away the good that has accumulated over a long period.
It is not what you have coerced others to gain for you or even acquired by your own arm, but how you’ve controlled yourself that is most important.
