“But you were unwilling to go up” [Deuteronomy 1:26(NIV)]

“But you were unwilling to go up”. It was a contest between God’s word and the Israelites’ reasoning. They listened to the gloomy report of the majority of the spies. Their minds operated on an earthly level and did not take into account that the God who had brought them so mightily out of Egypt’s bondage could take them into the land He had chosen for them.
Rely on human reasoning and you’ll accomplish little. Have faith in His word and see the way open up ahead.
Arm yourself with His word and His promise to be with you always and you’ll not fear to go up no matter how steep and winding the path to the summit may look. Take the first step and continue to press ahead – you’ll look back on all the way He has led you.
Don’t you be unwilling any more.
