“Does a person gain anything if he wins the whole world but loses his life? ” [Mark 8:36(GNB)]

May 30

“Does a person gain anything if he wins the whole world but loses his life? “. Life is as valued by the beggar as it is the prince, though in vastly contrasting ways.
The world is valuable but in real terms only if you can enjoy and benefit from it. If you have to barter your life to gain the world it is a loss whichever way you look at it. Without the hope of eternal life offered to us in Christ, mortal life at best is all too short -for many holding hardship and suffering.
In spite of this, many spend their years chasing the bubble of this world’s pleasure, or hollow acclaim of its glory.
Bring divine reckoning into the equation of life. Consider the eternal life in Jesus Christ. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct your thinking. Those who realise the truth and reject it must have the greater condemnation.
