“expecting to receive something”. We all expect to receive something from life. The Lord wants to give us more than we could ever think.
This crippled beggar expected to receive money: any disappointment he had on hearing Peter and John had none soon evaporated when his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Take those expecting to receive money to talk with some of the miserable millionaires; those expecting fame and acclaim to see how short-lived and empty it all is. Similarly get those looking for worldly goods talking to refugees who had everything one minute and nothing the next.
Then find a true Christian and discover how he found his pearl of greatest price. Look to Christ expecting to receive something for today.
