“How can these things be? ” [John 3:9]

“How can these things be? “. We all have things we cannot understand. The surprising thing about Nicodemus was that as a spiritual leader among the people he did not understand the need for a new birth about which Jesus was telling him.
We commend him for his honest and enquiring questions and have little doubt that he accepted the truth presented to him by Jesus. It was the first time that Nicodemus had been faced with this question of the new birth.
We must be ever grateful for John three verse sixteen spoken to Nicodemus and we do well to come to the Lord with our questions. There will be times when we do not find a reason given but what He says will always satisfy us until we reach heaven, when all will be made plain to us.
