“if we neglect” [Hebrews 2:3]
p>“if we neglect”. It is the easiest thing to do because it is doing nothing. Conscientious people do not easily succumb to it, though the pressures of modern life can cause them to fail on this point.
The neglect that the writer is referring to happens when men and women do not seek the Lord and or familiarise themselves with what He is saying and asking them to do.
The Bible makes it clear that there is no escaping the judgment that awaits those who neglect God’s salvation. It is rather like ignoring the life raft when the call has been given to abandon the sinking ship.
Neglect relates to the step of trusting Christ for salvation, and that of obedience to His voice day by day.
Let it be that knowing the consequences ensures we do not make this mistake.
