“in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord” [I Peter 3:15(NIV)]

“in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord”. This is not an outward form or observance or conforming to a pattern laid down for you. It is not erecting an altar in a corner or a part of your life.
It is setting up a throne room in the very centre of your being and inviting Christ to reign there. It cannot be done without turning out whatever we held in that place of honour before. It is not a room full of idols that we worship, but a place where Christ reigns alone.
The Lord will be working in every part of your life only when He is set apart in your heart as Lord. He will reign supreme when He rules supreme. Ascribe greatness to the Lord: exalt His mighty Name. When the throne room is within you your whole life becomes a peal of praise and worship.
