“joy in heaven over one sinner who repents” [Luke 15:7(RAV)]

“joy in heaven over one sinner who repents” .The one thing that sets heaven rejoicing is when a sinner turns from his sin and seeks God’s forgiveness. This sets heaven aglow with joy. The angelic choir performed a joyful anthem announcing the Incarnation. How they marvelled that their King should come to save us! Salvation was secured for us at great cost – Jesus fought against the forces of evil all the way to the Cross.
But the trickle of believers that began soon swelled into three thousand on the Day of Pentecost and today repentant sinners are as a mighty world-wide river.
And Jesus describes each repentant sinner setting the joy-bells of heaven ringing afresh. Let us keep those joy-bells ringing by preaching and proclaiming the need for men to repent.
