“live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature” [Galatians 5:16(RAV)]

“live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature”. Think and act positively expecting the new life in the Spirit to kill the desires of the flesh. Go on the offensive, be strong in the Lord. Draw your strength and pleasure from Him. Don’t entertain the devil for one moment. Filled with the Spirit means no room for anything else. Know satisfaction in Christ and you will not look longingly at any aspect of the world.
Life in the Spirit is an on-going experience. Directed and protected, instructed in all you do, seek ever to please Him.
There is a certainty about the statement – not most likely or if all goes well, but you will not gratify the sinful nature. And is not this what, as a true Christian, you need!
