“narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life” [Matthew 7:14(RAV)]

“narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life”. A man must humble himself if he would enter the gate.
Once sin is confessed and forgiven and Jesus is in His rightful place as Lord, there can be no sitting back at ease. All hell may be loosed to get the Child of God back into the devil’s camp again. Add to this the fact that the Christian life is an upward climb all the way and you will see that “difficult” is no overstatement. Yet neither the narrowness of the gate nor the difficulty of the way need deter the one who would attain life.
The gate is not too narrow for the Holy Spirit to lead you through it, neither is the way so difficult that the strength of the Lord cannot sustain you in it. Whoever will may come. Those who come He does not turn away. Once on the way, eternal life is yours in Christ.
