“salvation has come to this house” [Luke 19:9(NIV)]

“salvation has come to this house”. We are not told what happened other than Jesus stayed there with Zacchaeus. He was a seeking soul and it is therefore not surprising that he found salvation in this Friend of Sinners.
That Jesus included “this house” suggests that the others in the family trusted Christ, too. They recognised they were lost and trusted Jesus to save them. For them, receiving Christ meant looking forward by faith to the salvation soon to be effected on the cross.
This salvation experience did not evaporate when Jesus left. It was not an imagination but a blessed experience soon to be experienced by many. Start praying and keep praying that for your whole household.
