“Search the scriptures” [John 5:39]

“Search the scriptures”. Jesus spoke these words to those who were teachers of the Law and should be fully conversant with Scriptures. They read these Scriptures but not with enlightened vision. So they did not recognise Christ when He came.
All men need to be careful they do not treat the Scriptures as an old study book, suitable for only enquiry and debate. Men in need of salvation can find the Saviour, of help can find the Comforter, of faith can find the everlasting arms.
The deepest need of your soul can be found in Christ and you will find Christ in the Scriptures. That divinely inspired volume is given that you might look into it and find lasting treasure. Make reading it your daily search.
