“set your affection on things above”. There is so much to attract below that it needs a conscious effort to do this! Our world is so full of fascinating things which, while not evil in themselves, detract from the things of God.
Fascinations, obsessions and desires that are not of the Lord need pulling out like weeds from our garden if we would please the Lord.
This only happens when you set your affection in the right place. The Bible tells us not to love the world because it wants us to love the Lord. You cannot serve both – if you try you will hate one and love the other.
Fall in love with the Lord and enjoy a life in the Spirit and claim the promises that God has given you.
