“test yourselves” [II Corinthians 13:5(NIV)]

“test yourselves” .Modern medical practice relies on this more than ever. You have a medication or are provided with a piece of equipment to test yourself – be it blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol and so on. Testing yourself usually means that before someone else points it out to you or your condition deteriorates you can do something about it.
Now the same holds good for your spiritual condition – whether you are in the faith as you ought to be. Testing is necessary because things do go wrong and correction is needed. Are the expressions of love for Christ evident in your life – love for His word, His people, His work? Does worship arise in your heart?
Test yourself remembering that love must be paramount.
