“we will keep looking to you, O Lord our God” [Psalm 123:2(GNB)]

“we will keep looking to you, O Lord our God”. In the Old Testament we read that “they looked unto Him and their faces were enlightened”. In the New Testament we are exhorted to live looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
Peter made the mistake of looking away from the Lord to the waves upon which he was walking. He learned that you sink beneath what you fix your eye upon unless it be the Lord. Your spiritual life depends upon sight of Jesus. Even through the gloom of doubt that sometimes enshrouds us or the depths of sorrow that envelop us we should make out the Person of the Lord. That is what faith does – it sees the Lord at all times.
