“Ill-gotten treasures are of no value” [Proverbs 10:2(NIV)]

“Ill-gotten treasures are of no value”. It is not what value your treasure is on the open market, but how you acquired it. This may be something that only you and God know. Because of the importance attached to how we acquire what we have, the proverb goes on to say that righteousness delivers from death. And since we have to leave all our treasure behind when we die, the attainment of right or righteousness in the sight of God becomes of paramount importance.
It is not just a matter of collecting, but of collecting what is of real value and as Jesus taught us of laying up or transferring treasure to heaven.
Jesus went about doing good as He proclaimed the gospel. We need to do the same. Deal in eternal things today!
