God is at work

It is a remarkable fact about the book of Esther that God is not mentioned at all by name. Indeed, it is the only book of the Bible, apart from maybe the Song of Solomon (depending on which translation you use), that does not have God’s name anywhere in its pages. Nevertheless, although God’s name is not mentioned, and there is scarcely any mention about whether things that are recorded are good or bad, the writer is recording sacred history: the works of God in time.
