There are many good reasons to study the life of the prophet Elijah, above all because he points us forward to the Lord Jesus Christ. If you know your Bible you will know that John the Baptist, Jesus’ forerunner, was described as going before the Lord “in the spirit and power of Elijah” (Luke 1:17) – he was an Elijah-like figure.
