“all my fears” [Psalm 34:4]
March 23
“all my fears”. Many will think they could compete with the Psalmist in the list of their fears. But it is not how many, but how terrifying your fears are.
It is not really important how well-founded your fears are: fear causes pain and pain is unpleasant and can in extreme instances become unbearable.
The Psalmist had found the answer to fear and we all do well to take note and follow his advice. He sought the Lord – laid the matter before Him, listened for His counsel, heeded His word and received His peace. This course of action delivered him from all his fears.
If you can’t help being afraid, you can know the peace that Jesus gives and this turns trembling into tranquillity because the Lord is in control.
