“all the money that a man purposes in his heart to bring” .True gifts are free-will offerings. They are those that a man purposes in his heart to give and is not coerced or pressured into doing so in any way. These are the gifts the Lord loves to receive. In many instances we give because it is difficult to refuse. True gifts are given out of love for the Lord, for His work. These the Lord uses to rebuild breaches made by the passing of time or by other’s neglect. Giving comes before receiving. We all have something to give, however small it may be. Give that, and more will be received. It is when we purpose in our heart to give that God gives to us – in greater measure and more abundantly than we ever could think. We also see the increase of His work through our gift.
