“As the offering began, singing to the Lord began” [II Chronicles 29:27(NIV)]

“As the offering began, singing to the Lord began”. These words describe the time when Hezekiah restored the temple and its offices that had fallen into disrepair during the reign of Ahaz. There was a personal sanctifying of the Levites and a thorough cleansing of the temple building and the offerings ordained by God began again.
This commenced with the burnt offering and included the sin offering and when this happened singing was again heard in the temple courts. When we lose our song, the reason is usually associated with spiritual decline and our neglect of the reading and practice of God’s Word.
When struck silent for whatever cause, return to the Lord, offer yourself afresh to Him and let the joy of salvation issue forth as a song of praise.
