“bread here in the wilderness” [Mark 8:4]

“bread here in the wilderness”. This world is in many ways a wilderness. And when something good begins to grow in the wild terrain of life it is often cut down before it reaches what we call maturity.
But Jesus said, ‘I am the bread of life’ and a true appreciation of the barrenness of this world makes His words all the more wonderful.
Furthermore, Jesus had compassion on the multitude, seeing them as sheep without a shepherd, and still does, today.
The Lord satisfies the hungry soul – not with an occasional meal but with a satisfying fulness found nowhere else.
Many may placate and allay the pangs of deep desire but only Christ can satisfy with the bread of heaven.
