”his hand is stretched out still”. It is stretched out even though God’s people have not sought the Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God and Prince of Peace provided. Men and women in all generations, realising their waywardness towards God, have asked, ‘Does God still care?’
The Lord is plentiful in mercy, full of compassion and ever loving towards His children. He does chastise, but not for ever. He does allow sorrow and distress but promises ‘your weeping shall be turned to joy’. If it should be that you cannot understand His dealings with you, accept His invitation to trust Him and find how many pieces of life’s puzzle will fall into place. No one knows when God’s loving invitation to come to Him will close. This makes today the only sure time to accept.
