“It is the Spirit who gives life” [John 6:63(RAV)]

“It is the Spirit who gives life”. Without the Holy Spirit, the church is like a club, the Bible is antiquity and the Christian life the mere adoption of high ideals.
The Holy Spirit makes the church the Body of Christ, the Bible the Word of God and the Christian life a life in the Spirit.
Without the Spirit you may have enthusiasm, a degree of wisdom and moral uprightness worthy of emulation. But without the Spirit you will never ascend to the hill of the Lord or stand in His holy place: the joy of the Lord will not permeate your being and you’ll never know the meaning of worship: power will be missing, prayer will go unanswered and salvation will drop from the syllabus.
It is the Holy Spirit Who gives life.
