‘Moses whom they refused’ [Acts 7:35]

‘Moses whom they refused’. These words are taken from Stephen’s sermon – recorded at length in the Acts of the Apostles, no doubt to give a lead to preachers in all generations.
The Children of Israel did refuse Moses when he acted impetuously in slaying an Egyptian and no doubt he thought he had lost any chance of leadership during his forty years’ exile.
But he whom the people refused, God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer. The Lord fulfils His purpose and calling.
Refusal of those whom God chooses is still quite common. They can push you into a siding for a while but God will see to it you do not go off the rails!
Angels still visit those who are outcasts or in prison. Let man’s refusal be God’s opportunity all in His good time.
