“receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints” [Romans 16:2(RAV)]

“receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints”. Paul is commending a lady called Phoebe from the church in Cenchrea to the believers in Rome. She had been a blessing to many in Cenchrea but that did not mean they would accept her in Rome. Whatever her reason for moving, she would need help in the business she was to set up.
The body of Christ is made up of many members scattered over a wide area. Sometimes a member may leave and go into a strange place. Then it is that other members should be ready to help and supply the need.
Don’t let your circle be so closely knit that it misses others nearby waiting to be accepted. Receive in the Lord all who you find love the Lord in sincerity. You and I and those with you can be greatly enriched as a result.
