“they found that Jesus was alone” [Luke 9:36(NIV)]

“they found that Jesus was alone”. Jesus was still there when Moses and Elijah had returned to heaven.
The disciples wanted to remain on the mountain top. Peter offered to build three shelters for Jesus, Moses and Elijah. But time on life’s mountain peaks are to give us strength and fortitude in the subsequent struggles in the valley.
When all have left and the lights have gone out, Jesus is still there. It’s the same when the follower of Jesus enters a period of darkness – He is still there.
You may feel alone when others leave, but alone with Jesus and you have the company you need. With others on the mountain top may be inspirational. Alone with Jesus is for ever blessed.
