”when they got into the boat, the wind ceased” [Matthew 14:32(RAV)]
December 13
”when they got into the boat, the wind ceased”. The disciples’ experience is a picture of those who enter into the ark of salvation upon the seas of life.
Many make shipwreck of the life God has given them. It was not Peter’s return to the boat, but Jesus’ coming aboard that brought the calm. After all, it is our fear of what will happen to us that makes us afraid.
When Jesus comes into our life we have peace with God, peace with ourselves and a purpose in the life He gives us. His presence makes all the difference. The hope of heaven and the joy of salvation transcend all the petty anxieties if we take Christ on board.
When you know He is aboard with you, storms that loomed large before are largely forgotten.
