“a choice between the way that leads to life and the way that leads to death”. The choice found in Jeremiah is not the only one. God gives us all that same choice today. We cannot all be wealthy or educated or intelligent, but we can all choose the way that leads to life. It is God’s way, not ours. We would choose a way that looks right but all too often ends in defeat. Because Jesus died for our sins, His is the way of life. There is forgiveness of sin, newness of life and power to live to God’s glory through faith in Christ. This is the way that leads to life.
So much rubbish and undergrowth in modern living that it can be difficult to find the door. We are promised that we shall find it if we seek for it. When we do find it there comes the moment of decision for us to go forward in the way that leads to eternal life.
