“All my fountains are in you” [Psalm 87:7(NIV)]
November 26, 2024
“All my fountains are in you”. This psalm extols the blessings of Zion, the city of God. Zion speaks of the capital and centre of the kingdom of God and of the Children of God.
The fountains, or springs as they are called refer to the strength and sustenance the Christian draws from the true family of God, children, friends, privileges and protection. Scattered now, as the salt of the earth, the Christian must be looking for that city where God dwells with His people – a city that has foundations, as Abraham sought long ago.
If you are drawing strength from the world it will dry up. Because the cisterns of this world hold no water of life, set your affection upon the Lord and His promise and find with the Psalmist, that all worth having is found in Him.
