“And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went” [II Samuel 8:6]

“And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went”. King David’s life was a busy one. In an age that in many respects is far removed from ours, he busied himself about the Lord’s business. Yet in his energetic campaigns to subdue his enemies he did not lose the blessing of communion with the Lord.
The age in which we live can be equally if not more busy. We travel further and faster than David and the pressures of business and of everyday living are in some respects more intense. Yet unless we can bear testimony that the Lord is with us wherever we go, our rushing around here and there is futile. The surest way to know God’s preservation order on your life is to be wholly dedicated to Him and continually doing His business and bidding.
