“shall be saved” [Acts 2:21]
August 26
“shall be saved”. Call upon the name of the Lord – in faith, of course, otherwise it is not a sincere call – and you will be saved.
It is a present hope of a future salvation – saved from the wrath to come – and a present experience of sin forgiven.
No longer condemned but assured that through the merit of the blood Jesus shed, you have passed from death to life.
And if you wonder about this experience, let me ask “Have you called on the name of the Lord?” This is something that is done very definitely and personally. It is not asking whether you gradually became a Christian, but did you call on the Lord to save you?
If you did, then you have this pledge that God gives – “shall be saved”. If not, call on Him now and know you are saved.
