“the son of Pharaoh’s daughter” [Hebrews 11:24(NIV)]

“the son of Pharaoh’s daughter”. It would have been all so easy. Still in contact with his mother who had been deputed to be his nurse, but brought up in Pharaoh’s palace, Moses had been rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter from his cot hidden in the bulrushes when he ought to have been slain along with other Hebrew babies. He could easily have lived as Pharaoh’s son but Moses refused.
The easy way was not the attractive one for Moses. He was aware that he belonged to God’s people.
God’s way is the only one for the true child of God. The way of the world is very attractive and tempts many to turn away.
“The son of Pharaoh’s daughter” typifies any number of honours the devil will bestow on those who worship him. Every one must be resisted.
