“because he was of the same trade he stayed with them, and they worked” [Acts 18:3(RSV)]

“because he was of the same trade he stayed with them, and they worked”. When staying with tent-makers Paul turned his hand with them to the craft he had learned.
But we are left to imagine the gist of what was said as they worked together making tents. In fact, Paul was occupying one of the best pulpits when he sat down in the workshop and talked. His heart was full of his experience and this would be evident from his conversation.
More effective witness is done to the man or woman next to you at work than anywhere else. It follows that effective witness can only be done by effective witnesses, and that might be the problem. The Apostle Paul was on fire for God and wherever he went, things warmed up. The experience has been repeated again and again. It is worth emulating.
