“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers” [Philemon 4(NIV)]
October 1
“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers”. It is something to treasure when thoughts of a friend bring a sense of gratitude in your heart. When this happens, it is likely that this gratitude causes you to pray for God’s blessing to be upon that friend. So it was when Paul thought about Philemon – he thanked God for him.
The Christian cannot be isolated. He or she is part of the Body of Christ, the true family of the Lord. And as in any good family, we must help one another. We cannot all do everything, but between us we must get everything done.
It is as we show special kindness, go the extra mile, forgive those that wrong us, that a bond of loving gratitude is forged. Let gratitude form the foundation for a lifetime’s fellowship and friendship in the Lord.
