“I will follow you wherever you go” [Matthew 8:19(RAV)]

“I will follow you wherever you go”. To the scribe who spoke these words, Jesus answered by telling him that foxes have holes and birds their nests, but He and His followers had nowhere (of their own) to lay their head. Perhaps the scribe was unaware of the hardship and thought that becoming a follower of Jesus would ensure his advancement and success.
Jesus calls us to follow Him and that following must be the expression of love for Him. We are not told whether the scribe did this. Having no certain lodging place is actually of little consequence compared with being with Jesus. No problem is insurmountable when the Son of God is your companion. Get the right motive – follow Him because you love Him and tell Him so.
