“If a man love me, he will keep my words”. His words to us are not intermittent, not just now and then. The disciple must be in continual contact with the Lord. He should be aware of the distractions that can break this line of communication.
Personal and unforgiven sin can also distort the messages. In fact, the disciple needs to take time every day to find what God would say to him or her. The reading of His Word, prayer and waiting upon Him are key factors in receiving His word.
Seeking to do His will, a conscience that is clear of offence, delight at whatever the Lord is telling us to do are natural characteristics of all who love the Lord.
True love, divine love, the love of a forgiven sinner for his Saviour are bonds of obedience not to be broken.
