“lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” [Matthew 6:20]

<b>“lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven”.</b>  The financial world is continually bombarding us with details both of interest rates and where we may expect a greater return on our money. And most of us spend an inordinately large amount of our time earning or spending money. The Bible gives the last word on advice regarding investment as we read in this verse. Unfortunately no one can deposit their money or material wealth directly into heaven, except by giving it away (when Jesus once promised a rich man he would have treasure in heaven).

However, by what each one of us does with our life, who we make our Master and serve, we may lay up treasure in heaven. It is sad to report that relatively few pay any attention to this important matter. Hence Jesus’ injunction to us today.
