“HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD” [Zechariah 14:20]
“Holiness Unto The Lord”. As a doctrine, holiness has become obscured in the present climate: as a way of life it has practically disappeared. Past generations may have collected dead wood, but in trying to be rid of it, to say that the Christian may do whatever is standard behaviour in the world, is not right.
Holiness is not like an adhesive label. It is a process that begins when the heart is cleansed and something that develops as one walks with the Lord. The prophet described this name as ‘engraved upon’ the bells of the horses.
‘Be holy’ is an injunction that demands constant attention; getting alongside those in need in the world, yet keeping oneself unspotted from the world.
There will be no engraving the name at heaven’s gate, the endorsement of holiness must be taking place now.
