“Be not afraid or dismayed by reason of this great multitude” [II Chronicles 20:15]

“Be not afraid or dismayed by reason of this great multitude”. The follower of the Lord must not be daunted by the size of the opposition. This is the lesson Jehoshaphat sought to teach Judah as they went out to meet the opposing forces.
More important than the number of the enemy is that you should know God’s promise. This is more than wishful thinking. Faith and trust in the promises of God are engendered by a daily walk with Him and one that is not interrupted by waywardness and compromise.
If the relationship is in order, faith and trust follow naturally, they are no longer out of reach. True love casts out fear – in that environment there is no problem. It is the assurance of His Word to us and His Presence with us we need. With these, the size of the multitude no longer matters.
